The mural was inspired by a lace pattern designed in 1920 by the pioneer of modern Czech lace, Marie Sedláčková Serbousková. At the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925, her lace collection won a gold medal and an hon orary diploma. I found her work in the unique collection of the Lace Museum in Vamberk (Muzeum krajky Vamberk). Many thanks to the mayor of Vamberk, Jan Rejzl, for the invitation.
