Final shots of my last installation “The Chapel” made in Portugal for ESPORO festival. Thank you so much Lara Seixo Rodrigues and the whole Mistaker Maker team for your care and hospitality, it was an amazing experience.
The Chapel was woven above the route Camino Portugal, which for centuries has been followed by thousands of pilgrims between Fátima and Santiago de Compostela. Today’s pilgrims resemble high-performance runners or professional cyclists, and they have replaced wooden sticks with carbon fiber Nordic walking poles. I associated them with athletes rather than with former penitents. I imagined that there is an inscription “For those who strive” above the entrance to The Chapel.
